Hello, I am thinking about going on the Dawn 2005, Florida/Bahamas out of New York, my kids will be 13 and 11 - any information anyone can give me would be very helpful. I have never cruised with Norwegian before. Thankyou and Happy Cruising! Sue

Have never been on the Dawn, but cruised on the Crown, Wind,Sun,and the Sky befor the Sky changed its name. They were all very good. Think you will like the Dawn.

Thankyou so much Charles and Nucruiser for your feedback. The kids thought it was great that they can spend the day at Universal when we dock at Port Canaveral and being that when we were on the Voyager in June our last stop on the way home was the Bahamas, we had booked the swimming with the dolphins excursion, unfortanlty there was a problem with the dock so we could not go to that port, so instead we had an extra day at sea. Of course the kids were disappointed so they were very happy to hear that the Dawn goes to the Bahamas. Any tips on the ports would be great and also, I would love to hear about the kids only dining area. Looking forward to your post, and again, many thanks. Sue

well if i may voice my thoughts,i am a 1st time cruiser,my experience, just 3 weeks ago, well in 1 word superb,i was on the Dawn,Aug 8th-15th,the food was unbelievable,u must do their specialty restaurants, the surcharge is minimal compared to the quality of the food,we only experienced one caviat with the restaurants, they fill up quickly,so reserve seating asap,i would be happy to pass along any other tidbits as needed...............

Thanks nucruiser, for your feedback. Sounds like you had a "great" first cruise. From what I have been reading, it sounds like a really nice cruise. Now alls I have to do is start shopping around for the best deal. Again, many thanks for your feedback. Happy Cruising, Sue

When you get on the ship you can make reservations for the specialty restaurants. Generally, you can only make them no more than 48 hours in advance. Usually they offer a discount at Le Bistro the first night, so I would make that my first choice and you probbly won't need a reservation.

Have a great cruise!

Tom
