I am a former travel agent (1972-1996,I changed careers when airline commissions began to go south ) who is traveling on the Wind for the first time... My last cruise was the Paul Gauguin in 2000 ... My fiance has never cruised or been to Hawaii so I thought this would be a good way to introduce him to both... Our Cabin is P7201...
I have not been on the Wind either, but I saw a very extensive (if now 3 year old) review of its maiden voyage in Hawaii in http://www.cruisereviews.com/Norwegi...gianWind10.htm
The gal who gave the review is a travel veteran who gave a balanced and fair assessment of her trip (it sounds like she had some bad luck on various cancellations; most of which arose form fluke events).
Enjoy your trip.
I have sailed the Norwegian Wind a good number of times. Compared to the Paul Gauguin, you will notice a huge difference in all aspects of the cruise experience.
The Wind is a good ship and the itinerary you are on is excellent. Fanning Island is a wonderful spot to visit. Here would be my tips to really enjoy the cruise.
Dine in Le Bistro as many times as you can. It is an excellent dining experience.
Avoid peak hours in the buffet and try to dine earlier (or later) than the masses.
Bring your IPOD or CD palyer for days at sea and plenty of books to read.
Keep your sense of humor with you at all times and you will have a great cruise.
