Luggage Insurance ??

1st timers here........
We read that we should purchase "luggae insurance" anyone done that before and if so how and through whom?? Anyone feel it's necessary?? Thanks

1st timer...not necessary...don't waste your money... the odds are too big.

I agree with Philipp... Plus, if you've bought ANY sort of general "Travel Insurance" for the trip, there's usually a luggage clause in there to cover some part of a loss. OR, if you've booked using a credit card for all or part of the purchase, usually some "Buyers Protection" can cover losses on the trip.. check with your provider.

9 cruises and counting here, and never lost luggage. I worry more about the airlines losing it!!

If you purchased travel insurance through a separate company, a form of luggage insurance comes with it. (Usually an allowance for you to buy necessities if your luggage doesn't get there in time, plus coverage to reimburse you some of your expense if it's lost.) Luggage insurance by itself is probably not worth buying, but travel insurance most definitely is!

Thank you all.......we've traveled quite a bit and never bothered with it, but have never cruised before and didn't know if we should or not this time? i think I'll save the extra$$$ for one more drink with a pretty umbrella in it.........20 days to paradise....24 to ALL ABOARD !!!!
