Travel Time???????

Sailing on the Crown on Sept 17th. My e-documents say it takes 60 minutes to get to the Port. Having been to New York a few years ago and seeing all the traffic, I have my doubts. Would appreciate hearing from others what time it took to get to the Port. Thanks

It took us 45 minutes from LaGuardia Airport on a Saturday morning.

From where will you be leaving, and are you driving or taking another form of transportation?

Hi Lisa. We are flying in from Buffalo to La Guardia Airport. We will then take a cab over to the Port to catch the ship. This will be on a Sunday morning. This is our 4th crusie with Norwegian, but we have always sailed out of either Miami or Fort Lauderdale. We are looking forward to sailing out of New York and seeing their skyline. 16 days and counting

As long as there is no parade in NYC that day (long story...), you should make it from LGA in just under an hour. I recall just one toll -- Triboro Bridge. It was added to our metered fare. Our total cab fare was $37, including tolls and tips for a 45-minute trip.

The cruise down the Hudson River is unbelievable. Try to stay on deck until the ship goes under the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. This is a real thrill.
