Hello, I just noticed that across room 10088 on the Norwegian Pearl, there is a self - service laundry room. Will that be a noise problem? Any answers are highly appreciated.
Thanks, Lucy
It shouldn't be. Most people aren't doing their laundry when you're trying to sleep, they're doing it before dinner and during the afternoons. The cabins on the newer ships are very well insulated.
I've been close to that area and never had a problem...I really don't think many people do their laundry....at least I never do....Happy Cruising on the Pearl...I'm going back on her in Jan.....
Thank you for your answers, I have changed my reservation, I have booked cabin 9096 instead. I am very sensitive to noise, so I thought this would be better.
I cannot wait to go, still so many months...

I leave for Alaska in 11 days and I've got almost everything packed already:-)...Third trip there and I'm still overly excited...as you should be too.....Happy Cruising...
Hi Bob, I always wanted to go to Alaska, but never really had the money, since everything I want to do in the ports is very expensive, plus the flight from Germany and the balcony cabin (I usually can only afford an inside category). My beloved grandma always dreamed with me and before she died in January she gave me some money to spend on an Alaskan cruise with everything included that I always wanted. I am doing this cruise in her honor and I will always be grateful for everything she did in my life. She is missed so much and this is the reason why I am so picky with my cabin because it was her money and I want everything to be perfect - for her.
I wish you a great trip, tell me how it was, when youŽre back.

Just got off NCL Pearl 10/10/08 and after reading LUGI's concerns about the laundry noise I checked it out the laundry on deck 10 (across from cabin 10082) and deck 9 (across from cabin 9088) with the 3 washers and 3 dryers running I could hear was very little noise in the hallway. If you didn't know it was there you wouldn't hear it.
At least it will be very nice for you when it is time for you to do your laundry.
On all my cruises, the laundry rooms were on the other side of the ship and I would have to walk a half a mile to do my laundry; and that was just horizontal walking, not including the walking up the stairs or waiting on the elevator.
It will be especially nice when you just want to do some quick touch-up ironing of your clothes.
Thanks for the info, but as said in one of my above posts I have changed my cruise cabin.
Usually I donŽt do laundry on a week cruise, so IŽd rather be away from the laundry rooms.
