How do people carry necessary items while on
excursions? Example: Can I bring a purse and
lock it up somewhere? Is that even a good idea?
Room Key, credit card, camera? How do I store those safely on excursions or just going to the beach? What have others done?

Also, how do I handle eating/drinking on excursions? I am going to Carribean in this month and not sure how to handle the food and
water?
Thanks.

if you have a fanny pack thats what I use, and if I go in the water I leave it with whoever I'm cruising with, my fanny pack is big enought for what money I think I need and also my camera and room key etc.
As far as eating and drinking water depends on were your going, I've gone to mexico etc and always had no problem with the food but I do buy bottle water, hope this helps

If you have a lot of stuff, a backpack will work. My wife hates carrying her purse at ports but feels she needs all the junk that's in there. So I have a back pack she puts everything she feels we'll need in. I must say, she prepares better than I do. If I need sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, cell phone or just about anything else you could imagine, it's all on my back and she finds it in there. I bought a laptop back-pack and we use it (without the laptop) when traveling.

Cheers, Neil

I will refrain from making any snide remarks about having a fanny pack big enough to hold everything...

I agree, a back pack is the way to go!! I have my special one I just use to travel! Its lightweight and it has padded shoulder straps!
I do use my fanny back (it's a really small one to..lol.. .) when we are flying to keep the important paper work in...ect! Not sure if you are taking kids along, but I always pack snacks from home (for myself to) it saves on expense and sometimes you just want "Home" snacks...granola bars...ect! Also, we drink a lot of water during the day, so I always bring my Brita water bottle and refill! Hope this helps!
