norwegian sun and new orleans

My co-worker sailed on her out of New Orleans in October 06. He hasn't stopped talking about it since. He's ready to go again. He said they had spent mega bucks on the cruise terminal and they had no problems in New Orleans.

The wife and I will be on the April 1st cruise too. We are both looking forward to our first cruise. I used to live across the river in Gretna. I haven't been back to N'awlins in several years.

New Orleans is an interesting port and starting point for a cruise. If you are flying in, the airport is small and by my observations was not very busy.

Call it ignorance but I had no idea that the city was so far up river from the gulf. We left on RC Grandeur at 6:00 in the evening not to reach the gulf waters until after 10:00 some time.

Unlike leaving the islands, there are things coming into view the entire time during dinner.

Just a little info. from someone living at the opposite end of the river.
