I just read through the reviews of the Hawaii Pride of America -- the ship we just booked for May 13 sailing -- and am freakin' out. I have cruised before on RCL and Celebrity and have great experiences. Now I read the reviews on NCL and wonder what we've gotten ourselves into .... dirty rooms, bad food, rotten service? Is there anyone out there who has good things to say? Yeah, I should of read the reveiws before booking, but our travel/cruise specialist is supposed to be THE authority on cruises in our area. Help, please!!!!!!
Most reviewers who post on the world wide web are disappointed passengers.
Go to any cruise review web site and select any ship. Read all the reviews......
You'll discover that every ship has panners and lovers. Yes, even the Pride of America have reviewers who love the ship.
If you don't believe me, pick a ship you think has great reviews. I bet I can find a pan review very quickly.
good ship, but I am told service is bad!!! Not like the Wind-which is SUPERB!!! I heard stories it and others-not Wind-have students on ship who really do not care and in some cases have left ship at ports....When I sailed Wind, other passengers who sailed others told me....
Don't forget the difference between the Pride of America (and Pride of Aloha) and the WInd is American flagged and foreign flagged.... meaning American staff vs foreign staff. No more need be said.
Apparently the one thing almost all agree on is that the "...magician is really good...". But I don't think I'm going to risk $4,000 on a cruise just for that pleasurable experience!
While waiting to board the Wind on April 1 I talked to people you had just debarked the Pride of America. I also had read many reviews so I wanted to talk personally to people right there at the ship. All said the same thing. Though they had 7 days of nothing but rain and thunder which is no fault of NCL they all said it is a beautiful ship but the service stinks! None seemed happy about their cruise and I am sure the weather and the service played a big part of that. I am glad that I chose the Wind even though it is an older and smaller ship. Service was nothing less than Fantastic! Both Foriegn and American employees on this ship and all were wonderful! I will most definitely cruise the Hawaiin Islands again but probably not on the Pride of America. bek, make sure you post a review when you return and let us know what YOU think!
I was told that the Wind is completely foreign staffed-except perhaps Denny-Events Director.Service is excellent,Ship very nice, food very good,Shows all GREAT except poor Juggler! Dining views excellent,Cabins good yet smallish. No complaints!!!
POA is a great ,beautiful ship!!! Weather will be better for your sail-hence complaining much less-you will enjoy it very much!!!
Friends were on the Pride of America last year and said it was wonderful..... I agree with cpguy - - If we do Hawaii again, we'll do the Wind again and skip the American flagged ships, unless, of course, the service improves
I"M sailing on the same cruise heard same bad reviews email LLHenryIII@aol.com we'll chat.
