Norwegian Jade

Just curious…I was just on the NCL website checking out the Jade.
Since this ship left Hawaii, I noticed in the pictures, the rooms, atrium bar and quite a bit of the ship still have a very island theme going on. During the dry dock, did they change the décor at all or just the hull art? You would think that they would want to get rid of the “Hawaii kitsch” and do something more generic....well generically flamboyant as only NCL can do??

Why?

The Spirit has an Asian theme throughout from its days as the Superstar Leo, why not keep the Hawaiian theme throughout the Jade from its days as the Pride of Hawaii?

The old Hawaiian decor helps set the Jade apart from its five sister ships. NCL Freestyle Cruising is advertise as being casual, what could be more casual than a Hawaiian theme?

Since they've been trying to find a way of having exclusivity in Hawaii and have the ear of some law makers, I think it'll remain Hawaii theme for now. They have announced it will return if the new rules go into effect allowing them to one up the industry for their exclusive benefit. At the expense of the rest of the industry, I might add. I wouldn't look for changes until the proposed legislation dies or is passed.
