Card Games

I'm sailing with a friend on the Sept 10 Alaska cruise on the Star. I see they have a card room. Does anyone know of a good way to get card games going? Do they organize anything or have a sign up board? I would like to play group cards not just with my friend.

You may be able to ask the cruise staff (the folks that work with the cruise director in organizing activities, etc.) Chances are they may have some kind of card tournament or other similar activity on your cruise. I know I have heard about bridge or other activities going on, and my mother-in-law participated when she & I went on a cruise several years ago.

Typically each cruise has at least one bridge tournament. You can ask when you get on board if there is one planned. As for other card games you may have to ask if you want to try to have one arranged. If you ask early in the cruise they may be able to put an announcement in the activity letter.
