Last year I thought I was so clever and brought rechargeable batteries for my camera....only problem...I forgot to bring an extra memory card and...of course...the battery charger!
If you take meds......(pills...prescription drugs) don't forget to take them with you.
You can always buy batteries, toothpaste, clothes etc, offshore....but its impossible to get medications filled when off shore, unless the country you visit sell the medications over the counter.
I always forget to pack reading matierials (interesting books, magazines, etc.). But I usually am so busy with the activities onboard, I probably would not have enough free time to do much reading anyway.
We tend to buy a bunch of things in the places we visit on a cruise but duty free is soooo tempting to get those things you always use at home anyhow. Our bags are always overpacked coming home and we are usually carrying more then we really should. So make sure to leave some room to buy things.
I realized this on board the Gem last week, and then suddenly remembered I did the same thing last cruise: I never remember to bring a nice sweater to wear if I'm cold on board. I tend to be cold a lot, so I usually need something for the dining rooms and bars, etc. I brought more than enough hoodies, jackets, etc., but nothing really "dressier" for indoors. I ended up wearing a purple Columbia fleece for practically the entire trip. It's in most of my pics, LOL. Next time...I'll remember a shawl or a sweater. Also, I realized I don't need half as many T-shirts!

Oh yeah: I brought ibuprofin, cortisone cream, antibiotic cream and Tums...but no Pepto, and that's what I ended up needing. There wasn't any for sale in the ship stores. I ended up picking it up at a drug store in Nassau and cracking it open right there on the street.

I think I can top everyone's list of things we forgot. On our first cruise my wife had packed three suitcases. The one with the majority of her clothes she had taken downstairs next to the door. She was going to stage everything there to take to the car but never did. I took all the other luggage out a different door. Needless to say most of her clothes were left behind. She was not a happy camper at first, but was determined not to let it ruin our trip. She had the essentials, swimwear and lingerie!
