Five months to go!!!!Has anyone heard anything about the Gem..is it ready to sail???
I swore I would never sail again out of NYC, but the itinerary (and not needing to fly) changed my mind. We will have to grin and bear it first day out and last in...anyone else going???I am trying to get a handle on the popularity of this.

Papenburg, 08 August 2007 - Upon completion of ample tests and engine trials the 93,500 gt cruise ship “Norwegian Gem” will leave the covered building dock of MEYER WERFT on Sunday, 12 August. Undocking of the ship will start around 7.45 a.m.
With the ship being berthed at the outfitting pier, outstanding work will be completed on board. The Ems passage of the newbuilding to the sea trials port in Eemshaven/Netherlands is planned for mid of September 2007.

Ron-Thanks for the thread on the Gem-We are scheduled to do the Southern Caribbean on her in Jan. 2008 and we are getting very excited about her debut!!
