I know the Europeans have more money, but NCL services so many other ports in the US that other lines do not, that I don't want to see them leave us. Plus, they have offered so many more shorter itineraries. I know it's all about the bottom line, but I just hope that they won't forget their loyal following in the states.

I like that NCL will be adding to its year-round itineraries in Europe. We cruised on Norwegian Jade to the Western Mediterranean in April -- it was great to have a 7-night option, as we would not have been able to go, otherwise. I see that N. Jade is going to have a new home port for the 7-nighters -- that will be a nice change of pace. I think they can continue to do it without sacrificing their U.S. presence too much. I do wonder about deploying N. Epic there, though. She seems more suited to the Caribbean and the less port-intensive itineraries.

I much prefer smaller ships in Europe. The Epic would be too many people coming off the ship in hordes all trying to get on the busses. The lines waiting to get off the ship, back on the ship, the busses. No Thank You.

We will be cruising the Western Mediterranean aboard the NCL Epic in Oct 2011..I think She will be fine for cruising these seas!! I think it quite interesting that NCL's ships on order with Meyer Werft are some 12,000 tons smaller than the Epic!!
