We went to Freeport twice in 2010 on the Carnival Fascination. I was so impressed with the industrial port where the ships dock. Everything seemed to be in perfect order. Someone mentioned Lucaya is 12 miles from the port. During the whole ride there I didn't see any depressed areas. Many homes seemed newer with red Spanish clay tiles. The manicured landscape near the beach and hotels made me feel like I was at Disney World.

So much better than Nassau.

Bummer about the key lime pie...that is to die for. And I worked out twice a day and I still gained 10 lbs! I like cruise food too much! Glad to hear you had fun. Looking forward to checking out the revamped Great Stirrup Cay.
