Back from the beautiful Jewel!

We got back last week from our amazing 10-day Eastern Caribbean on the Norwegian Jewel. We had a wonderful time. Itinerary (San Juan, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Tortola, Antigua) was great, food was excellent, service was the best we've had thus far on NCL, ship was beautiful.

I submitted a review to Cruise Reviews, so it should be up soon. In the meantime, if anyone has any specific questions about Jewel, or wants to see pics of any particular parts of the ship, just let me know. Happy sailing!

Welcome back to the cold cruel realty. Sounds like you had a wonderful cruise. Can't wait to read your review! At least you have a cruise to look forward to, so you'll have something fun to plan for. I am always sad when leaving a ship, but this last time I actually cried. I know I'll be even worse when I get off of the Sapphire Princess in December.

I'm really thinking about doing a transatlantic, maybe I can swing one in 2012. If not, maybe Bermuda or Panama Canal. I was thinking about doing the transatlantic on the Epic, but you've made the Jewel sound very intriguing.

Did the Jewel have the sticky buns for breakfast?

Yes, they had sticky buns! ;)

I get misty-eyed every time I get off the ship...and almost every time I think about being on one! :)

I would definitely recommend the Jewel (or Gem or Dawn), but the transatlantic on Epic sounds awesome! I'm dying to go on Epic.

Oh, but one thing the Jewel didn't have was the key lime pie that Dawn had every night. :( I was so addicted to that. :( I was bummed not to see it. Dawn seemed to have a totally different menu structure than Jewel, Gem and Spirit; there were more static choices every night and less rotating ones. But it's OK, because Jewel had the same amazing cookies as all the NCL ships...SO GOOD.

The Jewel Class ships are my favorite NCL ships since Dreamward/Windward of long ago. I like the layout, the window seats, the outdoor promenade deck, and the larger main dining room (along with its entrance). I've toured N. Jewel and sailed on N. Jade, and came very close to booking N. Gem out of NYC.

Thank you for the report. I'm so glad you had a great time!
