Star engagement proposal
 

Hi everyone,

I will be going on the Norwegian Star in June going to alaska. I know I want to propose to my girlfriend somewhere either on the ship or during the shore excursions. Does anyone have any ideas for me? Or maybe someone who has been on the star know of a spot on the ship that would be a good place?

Go on a glacier tour and pop the question on the glacier. Certainly a unique place!

soccer19....Daves idea is great...but...if You want to propose in a warm and snuggly setting....Book the NCL Romance Package and propose either in the evening over cocktails at the Star Bar.....or during Dinner in LeBistro (included in the basic romance package!!) :)

thanks for the ideas, i'm leaning towards doing something on the excursions, but plenty of time which one to pick

I vote for proposing at the Mendenhall glacier...a spot you won't ever forget....or if you go on the White Pass Railroad in Skagway that's another super time to propose....Happy sailing and happy proposing.....

I actually proposed to my (now) fiance last May on Mendenhall Glacier and she loved it!
She says it is something she will NEVER forget and it definitely makes all the other girls around her very jealous... (and she says it makes the other men look bad...)

We took the Helicopter from Juneau and after flying around the glacier, landed right on top of it. We took about an hour hike around the glacier, then I popped the question. Actually handed my camera to one of the guides and she took probably 30 or so pictures of the proposal.

Oh, and she said YES!!! Wedding in April 2011!!!

Surprise is the critical thing. Who expects to be proposed to while tromping around on a glacier? But then, proposals over dinner are standard issue.

I vote for the glacier! RFree, I broke into a grin when I saw your post. What a wonderful moment to have documented on film. :)

My husband popped the question on the Caribbean Princess, my first-ever cruise, but we were just in our stateroom —*and I was being cranky because I'd fallen asleep after the champagne art auction and I didn't want to get up for dinner! Ha!
