Cruising solo but tired of paying the single supplement? Good news. The Norwegian Epic will have 128 single cabins with their own private lounge. Read more HERE

Eeeek, 100 sq ft cabin ! http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_confused.gif http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...n_confused.gif
I appreciate NCL giving the solo cruisers a break, but even the Living Room wouldn't get me. And I am thinking of booking an NCL....I think I am coming around to Freestyle, the screens showing open tables are interesting. |
In the presentation I attended one of the bullet items for this was affordability, and another was they are being upfront on the cabin size.
I've stayed in cabins not much larger - even with three of us (son was 5) - on the old Norwegian Sea. That was 112 square feet and definitely not as well laid out as these Epic cabins. I could handle it for a week, probably not much more than that. |
My son's bedroom is only slightly larger than 100 square feet and contains all of his belongings. Of course, that doesn't include a bathroom, but it's still a lot of room.
The one thing that concerns me is the marketing of these cabins toward friends traveling together who want their own cabins. I would hope that priority is given to cruisers truly traveling solo. |

They are also going to allow these cabins to be blocked out for group space, and they can be booked for a couple although that will incur the usual double occupancy fees. |
Sounds like a good idea to me. It will be interesting to see how the price point plays out though.

I think I heard them say $799 starting. Of course, there could be promotions.

I didn't realize those cabins were going to be for singles...great idea tho!
We hope to be on that ship by the end of summer, beginning of Fall....Pre-booked a cabin on one of our NCL trips this past summer... Can't wait. |
