Hawaii Island

It will be my first trip to Hawaii leaving Oct 2010. I will be going on POA but will spend 2 days prior the cruise in HNL and returning from the cruise I would like to stay 3 additoal nights but not sure which island I will enjoy. I love scenery which I know they will all have amazing views. I just would like to pick a island to enjoy the additional days besides HNL. Any suggestions?

If you do not have to pick an island before the cruise for your 3 day post cruise stay,then during the cruise you will be stopping at 4 different islands you can pick the one you would like to stay on after the cruise.

Yeah, I did think of that but I really wanted to make all the flight and hotel arrangements before we leave.

All of the islands have their strong points - but I think you'll find there's more varied to do on the Big Island of Hawaii . . .

Any suggestions on a place to stay there on the Big Island?

I'd stay on the Kona side, then take an excursion over to the Hilo side and make sure to visit the volcano. It's stinky, but amazing. There are many beautiful waterfalls on the big island, too. Be sure to have some Kona Coffee. There's a Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort, the Hilton Wakoloa Village, King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel, and the Royal Kona Resort, just to mention a few. There's the Emerald Beach, the Black Beach, and just many, many different attractions. You can also island hop pretty reasonably. We flew from Oahu to Maui for a day and then from Oahu to the Big Island for a day for like $49/pp round-trip. There's also the helicopter tours that are not inexpensive. And there were some ferries, not sure if they're still running, but they weren't from the Big Island, they were from some of the out islands. It's a magnificent state, but pretty expensive.
