Captain Trygve Vorren RIP

Last week I learned that a well known and respected Captain of NCL for more than 25 years - Capt Trygve Vorren - had passed away at the age of 59.

Although I never worked with him myself, his name was well known in the whole cruise industry and he was the Captain who took delivery of the brand new Norwegian Epic.

59 is way too young, I'm so sorry to hear that. 25 years is an amazing career at sea, but 59 is just too young. My prayers to his family.

Svein...thank You for posting notice of Capt.Vorrhen's passing! He has been my favorite Captain to sail with..We have enjoyed dining with him on the NCL Dawn and We were looking forward to cruising with him once again on the NCL Epic in October. Well liked by both his passengers and crews he was an excellent "Skipper" in the mold of Commodore Warwick of Cunard Fame!! I shall truly miss having him at the helm!!
