It's my first cruise.. going with 11 of my friends from school, we're all seniors in college @ Virginia Tech going for spring break. Can't wait! We're going to Cayman Islands and Cozumel. Booked an excursion for Cozumel doing the "Palancar Beach/Snorkel" it looks like fun (and cheap!)
Is anyone else going on this cruise?
Also a quick question, we were wondering how much beers/liquor drinks were on the cruise? What about at the casino?
Steve VT......You're almost aboard ship....the NCL Dawn is a beauty...she has a lot to offer!!! Drink prices will range from $6 to $13 US depending upon your choice of beverage. Don't forget that there will be a 15% automatic gratuity added to the drink cost. There is a soft drink package that is worth considering if you favor soda!!! I have sailed the NCL Dawn three times to date and a fourth is in the offing!!!
I've heard so many different stories on how they do tips on this cruise. I've heard 15% per drink, 18% per drink, a 15 dollar/day charge added to your bill.. etc.
So I guess my question is, what is the REAL system they use?
15% on drinks will be added to the bill. $12 per person per day will be added to your on board account. The $12 service charge covers your wait staff and cabin steward. Read about it here
I'm not sure of the current drink prices. There is an extensive drink menu located here. It is from 2008 though, So the prices have increased some since then. It will at least give you an idea of what they offer on the ship. I know for sure the beer prices have increased. You can also check the daily newsletter for any drink specials they offer.
Dwayne-- I hope you personally tried each and every item on the menu---On both the NCL Sky and the NCL Gem last month I'd say the beverage menu is the same but the prices averaged 50 cents more!!
