Pearl-Alaskan Cruise Excursions

We are leaving for our cruise in a few days and are wondering what excursions are actually worth doing. We are departing from Seattle. We were thinking of doing the helicopter/glacier excursion. Is it worth the money? Also, we have a 1 year old cruising with us. Would it be safe to take her with us, or best to leave her on the ship with her grandparents?

We were also thinking of doing the gold rush train excursion. Any opinions on that one?

Any other suggestions, tips, or advice would be great! Thanks!!!

I wouldn't take a 1 year old on a glacier tour. In fact they may not allow it.

The question about whether it is worth it is always a personal one, but ask yourself this question...how many times in your life will you be able to visit a glacier? Some things are worth doing just because it may be your only chance to ever do it.

As far as train excursions go, if your cruise stops in Skagway I highly recommend the White Pass Railroad tours.
