Epic 2-2-13 Super Bowl Party Cruise
This is our first time cruising with NCL and we're doing a Super Bowl Party Cruise. Wondering if anyone has had any advice, if you've ever done a group cruise before. We found it through our agent (link removed per http://www.cruisereviews.com/forum/forum-announcements/36370-posting-guidelines-rules.html#post284556 )
I think this will be a lot of fun but looking for any advice.
Welcome to the cruisereviews forums.
We've been on a few group cruises. The amenities vary depending on the group and how it's set up -- for instance, some might include a private party, group dinner in one of the specialty restaurants, or onboard contests. Others might not offer anything except for a group discount. Your TA will let you know (if you don't already) of the amenities applicable to your group. Obviously, it sounds like you'll be watching the Super Bowl together!
Which cruise lines have you been on previously? NCL is a bit different in that every passenger is on flexible dining time, so be sure to make any reservations as soon as you can. Several members of our forum have been on your ship and can provide specific feedback on the ship.
The NCL EPIC will be an excellent ship for the Super Bowl. The giant Wii screen in the atrium will be a hot spot to watch the game. As Lisa mentioned, your group cruise may or may not have added amenities. Your agent may have just blocked the space for better pricing and some amenities such as on board credit, a bottle of wine, etc. You may not even know or meet anyone else booked under this group. It would be just like a cruise you booked individually.
Thanks for the feedback. I know we get the group rate, or the TA reserved a special block like you said. They also mentioned contests and prizes including winning next years Super Bowl Party Cruise or cash. Yes, I am assuming since it's a party we'll all be watching the game together, which I think is a lot of fun.
We're making our dining reservations now, as we speak, and I have done NCL, Carnival and Disney before.
Wondering too, has anyone done a group booking where they didn't know the rest of the group they're with? It would be pretty cool to meet some ahead of time.
