entertainment and food on NCL pearl
We plan on taking the Pearl to Alaska in June.
anyone have experience with the entertainment... nightly shows, daily activities, and how it the food on the ship?
I am a vegetarian is there a good selection of things that aren't necessarily meat?
There are always vegetarian choices. The Pearl is a very popular ship. In fact it has been chartered out next year for several months for concert cruises.
I've been on the Pearl twice. They offer vegetarian options on all menus for dinner and, of course, there are many selections in the buffet. (I'm a carnivore, but have had the odd veggie pasta options and they are good). Food is so subjective and people like to complain that it's not up to their standards. I have found that the food ranges from excellent to OK.
I think that NCL does a great job with the shows. It's hard to say now exactly what the shows will be for June 2014, but "O, What a Night" was on the past two March cruises and was fun. Then they will usually have a magician or juggler or some combination and also Second City.
Hope you have fun. We decided on the Sun in July for Alaska next summer.
Just did our 12th cruise on the Pearl out of 40 cruises....
The Pearl is still a very nice ship....Menus in the main restaurants have been pared back a notch, but are still a treat from not having to cook at home....The shows were much better than the last few cruises on the Pearl....We have seen Oh What A Night enough times now but it's still fun to hear OUR music....where you can understand the words and don't have to cringe at the language....The Pearl is a good value...she is starting to look her age, but is still a great ride...
