Norwegian Epic Fire Worse Than Initial Reports Indicated

Norwegian Epic might be delayed.

Shipyard personnel are now saying the fire earlier this week was much larger and did much more damage than initially reported, with the blaze covering almost 13,000 square feet. Read more HERE

I just hope they repair the damage properly. If the schedule slips, it slips. It would be better to delay the delivery than to deliver something that is still damaged and subject to further failures.

It sounds like it was a huge area, 2 floors, 1200 square meters doesn't sound like a fire in some electrical wiring. I'll bet it was a cigarette.

Word is filtering out now that the local French prosecutor is investigating the fire as possible arson. No work was going on in the area of the blaze and it appears the fire suppression system may be have been deliberately turned off.

Maybe the ugly stateroom bathrooms did it....

Better to have a fire while in dry dock than out on sea....Hope nobody was injured...
