There were very likely two booking numbers, which means they should be treated as two separate cruises. Sounds like something to be brought up at the Latitudes party, also. (I'll do the same in April if this is still the case.)

Hi we were told that we would be silver after booking our 5th cruise-which is not true, also tried to fight since we took 3 in the last 2 years. However-I would go right to the top and contact the president or whomever and if you booked with a travel agency-tell them and get them involved, then post a negative remark on the sites-see if that doesn't change their toon-or ask for an upgrade! Since bmh got their status reinstated, there is no reason to do anything, least of all running around the internet posting negative comments. Trust me, that does nothing to improve your standing with a cruise line.
