Cruising to Alaska in a couple of weeks on the Sun. Planning my packing list and was wondering if the cabins come equipped similar to a hotel room ... i.e. hair dryer, shampoo, tissues, clock radio, etc.

Although I was not on the Sun, my last 2 NCL cruises have had hairdryers attached to the wall in the bathroom, a shampoo dispenser (but no conditioner), tissue was provided, but there was no alarm clock in the room. Hope that helps -

Not quite the same, as newer ships generally have more than the oldest ones. Sun & Dawn are both relatively new. Best bet is to read some of the reviews - perhaps some of them will go into detail about what is provided in the cabins. I have never seen alarm clocks provided though - best bring your own. A nightlight is a good idea, and almost essential if you have an inside cabin!
hi all, quick question,we are going on the Dawn 8/8-(i cant wait,it is our first cruise)what time is advisable to get to the ship,we are about 20 minutes from nyc,(hoboken actually)i see the ship from my house.........ha ha,thanx
Ships normally start boarding around noon. I would always suggest getting to the cruise terminal around 11am or so to be one of the first on the ship. This way you bypass the crowds that accumulate later in the afternoon and you can start enjoying the cruise the second you get on board. Be sure to pack everything you might need for the first 24 hours in a carry-on so you don't have to wait for your luggage to get a bathing suit or whatever.
