I totally forgot to post this last week. Thanks to Svein for reminding me about it!

NCL plans to do significant upgrades to Great Stirrup Cay. Read the details at Gene Sloan's USA Today report HERE

Personally, I didn't see anything wrong with it. However, I understand they want to offer more water toys. I truly enjoyed being able to swim/snorkel without having the water/sand roughed up. It would be fun to check out more of the island, though

They have so much undeveloped land there that I believe they'll be able to do this right without spoiling the rustic nature of the place.

That's true, it's a nice size island. I thought it was fun hopping off the tender, right at the beach. Very convenient, too.

Personally I'd prefer it the way it is - unspoiled (if you can call a small beach filled up with 2000 people unspoiled) and natural, but I do understand the need to upgrade the Island to be able to compete with for example RCCL who has had a great development.

I also see the need to improve facilities for baby strollers, wheelchairs etc.
