Hi to Everyone,

Planning on cruising the Epic in January...Just looking at the inside rooms (no oceanview anymore) and I'm having a problem with the bathroom layout...Looks as if the shower, toilet and sink are all in different areas of the room..with the shower and bathroom having frosted glass doors....seems strange to have to shower and then come out in the room to towel off....and no privacy in the toilet??? Does this seem strange to anyone else??? 23 cruises and I don't like this idea....Give me the bathrooms from the Pearl, Jewel, Oasis....

Bob, I agree. We had something similar in our cabin on Norwegian Jade and I found it difficult to get used to at first. We were in a suite (love those upsells!), so I was able to close the slider between the bedroom/bath area (one large room) and the rest of the cabin and tell the family to keep out. I did think about N. Epic while doing this... I would hope there'd be a privacy curtain separating the bedroom area from the bathroom area so that pax wouldn't have to tell their traveling companions to close their eyes. Actually, the shower wasn't that bad as there was sufficient room to towel off, but it is kind of awkward at first.

We've discussed this before I think. I don't like it either. NCL says the glass doors are thick and provide adequate privacy. They do have a curtain which you can sweep across and isolate that whole part of the cabin, but then it doesn't isolate you from the cabin door so you'd have to double lock that to keep others in your cabin from stumbling in at the wrong time.

NCL's logic is this layout allows more people to do "things" at the same time instead of waiting as is the norm for a traditional bathroom. I prefer the traditional layout, but I still plan to try the Epic.

We'll know more once reports get posted from the first cruise. That will be during the week of June 24th.

Thanks for the come back....and agreeing in principle.....I will probably go on the Epic, but I shall wait until the reports come in...My wife is against going after looking at the layout, she says it's as if we are sleeping in the bathroom.....Maybe we will just have to go on the Allure....just to see if it is as nice as the Oasis.....But first, off to the Panama Canal...
Happy Cruising no matter which ship we are on..

There was a small fire on Deck 4 aft on the Epic earlier this week. Just wiring was damaged and the original delivery date of June 15 is still said to be accurate.

Maybe a worker was setting a bathroom on fire?

I don't think I would blame them...If the reports are bad on the bathrooms, I won't be cruising on the Epic.....just will have to go on the Allure....the Oasis was wonderful...
