CruiseMates editor Paul Motter will be aboard the Epic for her first revenue voyage across the Atlantic from Southampton to New York. I'll be linking to his updates in this thread. Paul will be in one of the innovative solo cabins for the cruise.
So check back here starting on June 24th for the real story about the Epic! |

It'll be interesting to see if Paul Motter's impressions of the ship are the same as those expressed so far by Gene Sloan.
FWIW, I saw Blue Man Group in Las Vegas and absolutely hated them. They did a thing that included unrolling these huge rolls of crepe paper on top of the whole audience from the back of the theater, which was the last straw for me. I doubt I'd even go see them if I were to sail on Epic. |
Dang, Sandy, I was really looking forward to seeing that show http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...s/icon_eek.gif

In this post we see a familiar name and one with a less-than-stellar reputation on this forum given the amazing SS Norway thread of the past.
Paul left Southampton earlier today and hasn't posted from the ship yet. It should be late night now, and I hope to hear some updates soon. |

Paul's first post! HERE!

By the way...note that Douglas Ward is mentioned and he had dinner with Paul. Mr. Ward is generally considered "the" expert on cruising and cruise ships. I buy his book every year.

From this early report, it looks like NCL has some bugs to work out of the ship.
