Posters here have called the Epic..."Ugly"...a "Beluga Whale", etc. I am sure that the passengers who travel this ship will find it to be stunning. Give NCL a chance to get this ship out on the high seas, and let real travel experts provide their reviews. Too bad people are so quick to criticize in today's world we live in.
Just calling it as I see it Richard... I find it to be an ugly design. True, beauty is only skin deep in most cases and its very possible that it maybe be stunning on the inside. But from the outside I'd have to describe it as "big boned" but I sure she will have a great personality.

And yet, isn't that what your doing? What defines a travel expert? Certainly not someone who is bias to only one brand of cruise line. Even Peter Greenberg who professes to be a travel expert has given poor advise. Most notably on the Noro Virus. Even a travel expert is only giving their opinion when it comes to judging appearance of a ship. It is only an opinion, it's subjective. It truly is in the eye of the beholder.

Okay Dave. I just think it's terrible to be discussing how ugly something appears without actually including a photo. So here's a photo of the Norwegian Epic from Cruise Mates.
We could also include a photo of the nearly as large Celebrity Solstice into this discussion.
Photo from Cruise Mates.
Note, above the bridge there's at least 4, if not 5 decks of glass above the bridge, which is located on Deck 10. Only difference between it and the Epic are the leading edges above the bridge have a slope, vs a vertical rise.
I'll admit slopes appear more pleasing to the eye. But you must admit vertical rises allow more internal, functional space.
Thanks for the pictures Ron. Seeing them side by side confirms the Solstice is a much nicer sleeker looking ship. Instead of the pill box look of the Epic. Thanks again for confirming that mystery.
