Hi, I'm going on a Panama Canal cruise in September and here is a question that I have never been sure about. Do you attach your ship's luggage tags to your suitcases before you leave your home airport or do you wait to put them on after you arrive at your final airport and before going to the cruise terminal? I never knew which was the correct thing to do. Thanks in advance for replies.
I always make two sets....put one set on before the flight, and in case they do come off, I have the second set with me...and remember to put clear packing tape on both sides of the paper tag....makes it much stronger....Happy sailing...
On our first cruise ever, the airline did not put our bags on the plane. If we hadn't put the cruise luggage tags on, the bags would never have made it to the first port to join us. Norweigian typically sends at least 6 or 8 tags so we put one set on before we get on the plane and have others for back up and add a second one to each bag before we drop them off at the pier.

After I put the tape on the baggage tags, I punch a hole and use a plastic tie down to secure it to the luggage....and of course, I bring extras with.....So far, after 23 cruises, my luggage has always arrived in my cabin...but you never know....Happy Sailing to us all...
