The last word from NCL was that the Norway will be off their schedule "indefinitely." Replacing the destroyed boiler will take many months, and they are exploring other possible options. Those who love her have to hope the great blue lady will be back someday, but as yet there is no timeline.
if she returns to service (which is what I am hoping for) it won't be much earlier than late spring, early summer of 2004. So far, nothing has officially been decided, yet.
I have very good contacts at the shipyard in Bremerhaven, and while they indicate that a "happy end" for the "Norway" seems to be in sight, nothing is official, so one cannot be sure about this. However, I expect NCL to make an announcement shortly.
still no official news from NCL, yet. I will see the ship in Bremerhaven again this Saturday. It is, however, not possible to get on board at this time. I will try to find out some additional pieces of information, though.
yes - that's certainly one of the options. Also, there's a tiny chance that she might end up as a "German 'Queen Mary'" in Bremerhaven. It would be great to have her there permanently, but I would definitely prefer to see her sailing as long as possible (i.e. 2009).
