Hi, Tom,
If that group cruise-to-somewhere-exotic ever materializes, it would be fun for whoever manages to go....whew! that was a mouthful...to try and guess who is who. As your story illustrates, I am sure we would all be in for some surprises. And laughs, for sure. Actually, I have seen photos of you and Nancy on a webpage somewhere, so you two couldn't play!
Rose
P.S. It's nice that even though your lady promised to be boring, etc. you say you were looking forward to meeting her. That's a sign of a kind person!!

Rose,

try this link and you can read about Raoul, our german moderator and you will really laugh.

http://cb.ruderhaus.de/

He is has nothing in common with your envisions.

I was also very curiously about him and asked him, to tell more about him. So he send me this link. So take a look and then write what you´re thinking now.

BTW: in some reviews I readed: babyboomer instead of the age. Let me know what it is.
Maybe Nancy can answer that.

Best wishes from a 50+ person

Marita

Rose,

now I wonder what you think once you have taken a look at the link Marita posted. Oh by the way, her posting has finally led me to replacing the old picture on that page with a recent one.

Marita,
A "baby boomer" is the term given to the generation born between 1946-1964. Most of us who choose to use that term are, like you, in the 50+ age category. But, we like to align ourselves with the generation we are part of, rather than a specific age (it's really a vanity thing ).

so...that song "Six White Boomers"....hmmm
I'm thinking we have numbers 1,2 & 3 right here!!

Not everyone will get that, of course, hint: Rolf Harris, old (60's) Christmas tune.

A bit more about the origins of the term: the years Nancy mentioned are the post-war years when couples were reunited and the birthrate blossomed, known as the Baby Boom. I am what I like to consider an authentic boomer, born within the five year period following the end of the war.

Well anyway, thankyou madame Marita. Now I've had two good laughs. Raoul, you have a huge capacity - obviously born out of a great love -- for all things ship/cruise related. A real gift. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Rose
