You're welcome, Jude. I am jealous of your view. I'll bet you see a lot of cruise ships -- and it will be so nice for you to be on one of them.

In case things get a little bumpy on your cruise and you need a seasickness remedy, try green apples. We had the most forward cabin on the highest passenger deck on our last cruise, and it worked for me!

Hmm Green Apples. Never thought of that one. I usually stare at the horizon. Another thing I learned was taking a nap helps stabalize the body But I will try the apples if all else fails. Thank you for the suggestion.

Just got off the Spirit 3/10.... had a wonderful time - our 1st cruise. The casino was a bit rough on all sea days, we were on deck 9 with a balcony. We FROZE leaving NYC.... bundle up - the wind was more than i thought it would be!! Embarking was simple - and we didn't have passports - went smooth as silk.... disembarking too... The food, staff and schedules were perfect for us - we ate when we wanted and slept when we wanted..... and we didn't do a dress up night - ate at Cagneys and didn't feel under dressed in a nice summer outfit. The shows were great - we really loved it!! I'd be happy to answer any other ??'s - so let me know -- it was our 1st and I was paniced so if I can ease your mind - I'm here !!

Thanks bfein this will by our first cruise also. Any info or suggestions you could give would be appreciated. 3/10 yea it was cold that day Being from the area (well 5min from the docks) I have a good handle on the local weather. Also working on the docks I have acess to the sea state reports so hopefully mother nature will cooperate if not at least I will have a 96 hour head start

Jude, yes, of course dress nice in the dining room. Respect your company and the other passengers. You dont always have to have a suit, but how about slacks and a nice collared shirt?

Thanks for the advise on the packages. I did not realize the spas were expensive guess they are not like the pricing in resorts.

When we left out of NYC we went way early and dropped our bags then walked to times square, about 10 minutes away. It was great! When we got back, we walked right through security and were on the ship within ten minutes. Awesome viewes of NY and NJ on the way out, make sure you peep those for sure. Getting off the boat we carried our own bags and walked through customs in about 30 seconds. NYC is da bizzy. Have fun, the spirit is a nice ship. And yes there will be a formal night, most people dress up, I didnt see many tuxes but I did see a lot of suits.

C) Packages. I see they offer embarkation packages which include dinner and wine at the french resturant plus spa stuff and other things. I was just wondering if it would just be cheaper to book the stuff seperate or do you recomend the package deals? We were looking at the Romance package at $249. Seemed pricey for what is offered.

OK just checked the cruise terminal info... 3 ships docked at the same time. Will this be a problem or is it pretty smooth even for 3 vessels?

I sailed out of NYC, 3 ships were docked and we sailed through. You will probably disembark a bit late though. Just enjoy and dont worry about a thing.
