None of the 2,135 passengers was injured in the incident and all passengers were safely disembarked. As a result, the May 25th cruise was cancelled. Passengers have been offered compensation packages of a full refund plus a future cruise credit certificate in the same amount as the fare they paid for the cancelled cruise. Additionally, NCL offered to assist all passengers with their return travel arrangements. NCL has also cancelled the June 1 and June 8 voyages and is currently contacting travel agents and passengers to notify them of the cancellation. June 1 passengers will receive a full refund plus a 50 percent future cruise credit certificate. June 8 passengers will receive a full refund plus a 25 percent future cruise credit certificate. NCL is fully cooperating with the US Coast Guard and the National Transportation Safety Board to understand the cause of the boiler room accident.
