We did this cruise 3 years ago. We tenedered in Loreto and docked at Pichilingue (La Paz). We were there in October, so I don't know what the weather will be in December. We didn't do any shore excursions in Loreto. We just walked around the little town. There is a mission church with a small museum attached, a few restaurants and a small beach near the tender dock. We did a snorkle excursion our day in Pichilinge/La Paz. The dock is actually about 20 miles from La Paz. There were excursions and shuttle buses to La Paz. We booked through the ship's excusions, which was lucky, because we were late returning and the ship waited for us. Remember that you will be in Mexico, so if you make arrangements with an outside vendor, be very sure of who you book with. Get lots of recommendations and references. Also, carry small bills for any purchases. Many vendors can't/won't change large bills (if you are told the cab ride is $12.00 and all you have is a $20, the ride will be $20. No change....)I will say that this cruise was the most relaxing and pleasant cruise we have been on.
