we're spending a couple of days in miami before our 1st cruise on facination. we'd like to stay where we won't need a car rental and we can just walk around and shop and eat, whats best down town or south beachs area,are they safe areas thks. JK

we're spending a couple of days in miami before our 1st cruise on facination. we'd like to stay where we won't need a car rental and we can just walk around and shop and eat, whats best down town or south beachs area,are they safe areas thks. JK

We stayed in south beach a couple times this year. The last time was at the Holiday Inn on 22nd and Collins Ave. Once you got past the Holiday in there wasn't a lot for shopping or restaraunts. The first time we stayed at Geneva Hotel on 15th and Collins. The Geneva is not worth staying at but there are a lot of shops and restaurants within a couple blocks of there.

We did enjoy our time at the Holiday Inn and it is still within walking distance of the stores restaurants and it is on the beach. There were many hotels between the 1200 block and the 2200 block of Collins Ave. This is also a good area for shops, restaurants the beach and other activities.

I would consider it a safe area also.
