Yes you can get a ride. Almost all the hotels that are close to the pier would probably give you a courtesy ride or call a cab one. Kennedy Space Center is seen off in the distance from the ships and from the resorts near the peir. We have watched the shuttle's take off from the resort we stay at where you can see the ships go in and out.
If you are looking when you drive in, it is the big white building with a HUGE flag on the side. (off in the distance)
