We are sailing on Carnival Liberty in Sep 07 - none of the ships tours seem to fit our budget or style - anyone have experience with booking a tour at the dock? Thanks.

When you dock at Colon, go through the terminal and at the other side you will find lots of drivers vying for the chance to take passengers on a tour. You will be able to pick and choose and negotiate your price. We went with another couple and split $100.00 (including a tip) and spent about 5 hours, went to the locks, drove over to Portobella, and stopped at a shopping plaza for about 1/2 hour to get souvenirs before returning to the ship.
