We are stopping in Miami for a day on our cruise on Nov. 5th. I was wondering are there things to see at this port, or do we have to go outside to see stuff. We are in port from 8Am till 5.
Thanks.

The Port Of Miami is on Dodge Island, which is in between Miami and Miami Beach adjacent to a causeway. It is a commercial port facility. You'll need to leave the port area to do anything.

For those with families, Grayline of Miami has an offer for the Hop On/Hop Off bus. Children under 12 go free with a paying adult. Good from May - September. See more here.

That is excellent. You can board the bus at Bayside Marketplace which is immediately on the left as you leave the port. Actually Bayside isn't that bad of a place to wander through.

There are many interesting things to see in Miami. Do they offer an excursion to Villa Viscaya? Crandon Park Zoo? South Beach? Seaquarium? Everglades? As Dave said, Bayside isn't that bad, either. We were in Coral Gables, which had some nice shopping areas, but I prefer South Beach. There are plenty of cabs available at the port, there is the Tri-Rail system, and the bus that Cruise Fanatic mentioned. Hope this helps some.
