Acapulco and Zihuat. Boogie Boarding

Does anyone have suggestions for a good boogie boarding beach in Acapulco or Zihuatanejo, that is a reasonable distance from the cruise ship pier? Also, if you have any idea what fair cab fare from the pier to the beach would be, that info would be also appreicated. Thank you very much.

Acapulco and Zihuatanejo are both located in large, protected bays; neither one has enough of a break to do any serious boogie boarding. Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan both have southwest-facing beaches and at least a little bit of a break.

In Zihuatanejo you can take a cab or a bus to Ixtapa, about 30-45 minutes away, which has a decent break. You could reserve a tour from the ship that would give you transportatin to one of the beach resorts, access to the beach, pool, and all the resort facilities, including food and drink.

Thank you for the info. The boogie boarding in Manzanillo is excellent, and if the same had been true for the other 2 ports, we would be tempted to bring our own boards rather than rent them. Based on your advice, I think we will leave the boards at home and be grateful for the extra room in the cabin!
