Hey guys! Im christine, a FIRST time cruiser. i am going on the NCL dawn Bahamas & Bermuda... i am only in bermuda one day from 8 am to 5...

if anyone is familar with the port i just have a couple of quick questions. i think ive been to every site researching it, but i never got a difinitive answer (it took me a while to finally register and post this! LOL)

given my time, i want to see PINK sand. (well, you know guys..!) so, i keep hearing all about elbow beach and horseshoe bay... how far away is that from my port? will it be difficult to get to? if i have the option of choosing one, what would you guys prefer?

if im looking for a picture perfect beach, is anything worth it in Kings Wharf? does anyone have any suggestions?

and also, is there a specific area where the water is calmer than the others?

THANKS guys!! i leave June 24th, if you could help i would LOVE YOU ALL http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif

If it's a pink sand beach you are in search of -don't waste your time at King's Wharf. The majority of the Bermuda beaches of your dreams are along the south shore. Both beaches you are considering are spectacular, although I prefer Elbow Beach only because it offers a longer stretch of sand for the beach walks I so enjoy. (Warwick Long Bay is also great.) You can take one of the local buses to either beach, but in the interest of time I might consider taking a taxi (be prepared they are expensive). Or you might want to consider taking the local bus (there is a terminal with information at the dock at King's Wharf)to the beach in the morning and then paying the extra fare for a taxi back to port to maximize your beach time. From the Dockyard, Horseshoe Bay is the closest.
Hope that helps!

I agree with Nancy. I like Elbow Beach a lot. The public buses in Bermuda are clean and friendly, but given your time restriction, I'd opt for a taxi at least one way.

If you get back to King's Wharf early, there are some galleries and museums to see, but it's sort of industrial-looking and not very pretty.
