Ive heard several different things.. when I ask - I always get a different answer ! Do we have to leave our baggage with the porters ? Why cant we go through security with our luggage ? I know its rare (5% out of 100, so says Carnival)but Im not thrilled at the thought of leaving my baggage unattended. Also, I am a DIE HARD DR PEPPER FANATIC ! Carnival only stocks Coke products... can I take my own soft drinks ? for a party of 4, can we take 2 twelve packs ? Thanks ! e

I cruised out of Galveston in 2002 and I remember a few people carrying their own luggage. It was just easier for me to leave them with the porter since I had two small children to chase. And I am glad I did because it took FOREVER to get on the ship and I would have had to pick it up every few feet for 1 & 1/2 hours! It was worth the $1.00 per bag tip for me. I have been on 3 cruises and have Never had anything stolen. About the soda....you can take your own but I remember them serving Dr. Pepper on the ship. I believe in TX and OK, both Coke and Pepsi can bottle Dr. Pepper. However, there was no Diet Dr. Pepper.
Enjoy!

Yes..you can carry your own luugage on, but why? Just that much more to lug around. The porters do an awesome job at the Galveston terminal. Just tip them well and they will take good care of you. We had no problems whatsoever with our luggage.

We also took our own pop. Carnival doesn't mind as long as its in reason. We took a 24 pack in it's own bag. No problems! Carnival serves only Coke products and there was no Dr. Pepper that I saw.

Thanks for your input... I did ask Carnival... they assured me no DP on board So, I will definitely carry my own with us ! As far as the luggage thing goes, it has happened in the past (on a flight) where our luggage didnt make the trip... who wants to end up somewhere with no clothes, swimsuits, etc ? I know Im being pessimistic... but force of habit ! Im sure it will end up fine in the long run... Thanks again !
