Does anyone know if you can just go to the atlantis to walk around the aquarium and pools with swimming or do you have to pay. Has anyone just took a taxi and walked in.

You can't use the Atlantis facilities without paying, except for the casino and shops. It isn't cheap but it is a nice place. I think it is $100 or so per person for a day pass for access to everything and around $40 for full access to the aquarium and shark area. And no, that doesn't include food or drinks. The number of passes are limited and they do run out of them.

Last Feb. we took a taxi to Atlantis don't remember cost but it wasn't much. We had hoped to check out the swimming areas but the cost was way more than we wanted to pay. You can walk around outside and watch the rays, sharks and other fish. It was really neat. Inside there is an area where you can see a portion of the aquarium with out doing a full blown tour. There is no cost to just walk around. Of course the casino is there and you are more than welcome to drop some $$ there. I put in $5.00 and came out with $35.00 so I quit and left a winner. It was a very interesting afternoon, lots to see. Enjoy if you go.

We once booked a room at the Comfort Suites across the street from the Atlantis. We got full use of the facilities at the Atlantis and a place to shower after swiming in the ocean. The room worked out a lot cheaper than paying at the door for the four of us.

I had thought the Comfort Suite stopped one-night bookings and was going with a two-night minimum but apparently it isn't so if you book on-line. They do still have the access privilege - it is still a good chunk of change to get a room at the Comfort Inn, although less than the cost of buying day passes at Atlantis.
