Mazatlan???

anyone know if there is a pretty beach/beaches in Mazatlan? cool spots?

Welcome. I was in Mazatlan in February. The El Cid Resort is beautiful. You can catch a cab for $10.00 at the Mercado, spend the day at the beach and have free use of El Cid's facilities as a cruise ship passenger.

The resort has a swimming pool, showers, lockers, food, wait staff. The beach is clean and the water was perfect for swimming, jet skiing, parasailing.

My only advice is beware of vendors on the beach. If this bothers you, stay by the El Cid pool.

We were at the Playa Mazatlan resort beach - it was beautiful and warm and we had a LOT of fun - but the vendors were relentless. We did buy a lot of things from them, because we wanted what they were selling, but it wasn't a place to relax on the beach. We had LOTS of fun in the water though, my daughter went parasailing, my son tried jet skis, and all our stuff on the beach seemed to be safe and no one was paying it any attention.

I would be really interested to know if there is a beach spot where there are NO beach vendors. I would love to go back to Mazatlan, but not with the same scenario.

I really like "Stone Island", however, it is not an island. It is a stretch of beach. Ask around how to get there. It was really pretty. Of course there were people trying to sell you stuff on the beach. Braid your hair? Sunglasses? Jewelry? Fake tattoos? Whatever?? Oh well. Good luck. Lil' Lori

thank you guys so much for the replies...that helps so much...when I was cruisin' w/Disney, we would go to the Disboards, I am so glad this is a good place to find info on other cruise lines...this is our first to go w/anyone else, so I am trying to plan as much as I can so that there are no major glitches!
