Regarding the cliff divers. Can we see that by renting our own taxi or do we have to book an excursion? Should we go at night or the daytime?

Any really neat casual restaurants?

You can easily do the cliff divers on your own in a taxi. They are actually quite close to the port and it is well worth visiting the event.

According to the latest information I have the divers perform daily at 1:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30 and 10:30 pm.. As Tom has said, it is very easy to grab a cab and do this on your own. I would, however, forego the dinner package that is offered - save your money and catch it from the viewing stand. It is probably more impressive at night time, but it depends on what else you want to do while in Acapulco.
