This is one of our port of call stops and we do not want to do Rome this time, what else is there to do in this port? Something nearby?

Go to the beautiful walled city of Tarquinia. It is about 20 minutes by public bus (very nice and clean>. Tarquinia boasts one of the best sites for Etruscan ruins (about 10 minutes by another local bus). The museum in the center of town is fabulous. Town is on top of a hill. Streets are narrow and sometime steep. Go to my site at http://www.ftroute.com/ITCR/Civitavecchia.cfm and click on the Tarquinia link. We loved it even though it was quite cool and wet the day we were there.

Thank you for quick response.

We don't leave until June 6, 2009 but we want to be somewhat organized on what we're doing at each port and this was the only one that we have no clue.

I have heard about where you suggested and that was something we were looking into. Also, with NCL they offered a 4 1/2 hour excursion on bicycles at that starting point and riding towards wine tasting etc.

Thank you again.

We are first time cruisers, lol, lots of questions.
