Default Progreso, Yucatan
Progreso first;
Arriving by cruise ship your time is limited so take the excursion bus first and learn the lay of the land plus some interesting historical facts. Note that the big white light house, designated on maps as the faro will be your easy reference point for returning to the ship shuttle. We had a lovely and leisurely time at the market across from the light house. We walked south two blocks to the city building on the west side of the city park, plaza to see the fascinating paintings depicting the port history and along the way shopped at the San Francisco supermarket where the locals shop…this was very interesting. We next rented bicycles across from the ship shuttle stop and cruised the beachfront, malecón and a number of fascinating side streets. Bring your camera! (Advertising removed.)
