This isn't our first cruise but it is our first to Southern Caribbean. Any suggestions about shore excursions would be greatly appreciated. We will be visiting Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Maarten, and St. Croix.
Thanks!

Hi TravelNut, there are tons of posts about your ports. What do you enjoy doing? You can use your "find" feature, type in your ports and it will pull up all the posts made about them. If there's something in particular you enjoy, please let us know and we'll try our best to give you suggestions.

Thanks Penny,

I have been searching the site and compling ideas. We now have our 24 year old son and new 23 year old daughter-in-law joining us so our party is getting larger. There are so many choices our heads are spinning. We know WHAT type of activities we want to do i.e. snorkling, catamaran sailing, shopping, and beach but are hoping to receive suggestions of WHO to do them with and which islands offer the best i.e. St. Croix is best for snorkling, St. Maarten for shopping, etc. Any tips are appreciated no matter how small. Thanks again!

In Barbados, we have used Tiami Catamaran sail/snorkel 6 times. They have beautiful cats and great crews. They take you to the same snorkel area, but it's beautiful, so it's fine with me.

In St. Lucia, we have always booked through the ship, except for our last visit and we took a cab to Pigeon Island. It was much less expensive through the ship.

In Antigua, we just negotiated with a driver outside of the terminal area. It was $25/pp and we got a great tour.

In St. Maarten, you can take the water taxi to the beach near where you dock. We used the tikihut the last time we were there. There's great shopping right at the port, but loads of people go to Marigot. There's also Maho Beach and Orient Beach. The cab fare is reasonable. Orient Beach, you will have to purchase a drink package to use their restrooms, some will include a chair, too.

St. Croix, haven't been there in ages, so not sure who to use there. However, the snorkeling when I was there was really good.

Hope this helps a little.
