We are cruising to the Mexican Riviera Jan 2 2005.
My husband would like to fish at one of the ports.
We don't see any fishing trips on our excursion choices. Any ideas?

If your cruise is going to Cabo - that is THE place to do some fishing! The fact that it is not offered may have something to do with the length of time and time of day you are in port. You did not mention which ship you would be sailing. We can probably give you more definitive info if you share the ship and times you will be in each port.

The fishing is also excellent in Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. You can find fishing charters on the web or negotiate them when you arrive. There are tour operators that can set you up at both cruise terminals.

Have a great time!

Any place where you can fish off the dock in PV? My kids want to fish but with so much to do, I'm not looking to rent a charter.

Thanks.

Hmmmm, I am not sure that you could fish off the dock in PV and I wouldn't recommend fishing from the shore in the bay as there is a fair amount of polution. However, I have caught Bonito to 8 pounds casting chrome spoons into the surf in front of the Finestera Hotel.

It is an easy walk to the beach from the tender wharf.

Oooops, I forgot to mention that the Finestera Hotel is in Cabo.
